We’re proud to partner with Helen Taylor, who started Core City CrossFit Kids & Teens as a nonprofit to make CrossFit and Olympic lifting accessible to every youth in the Detroit community, believing firmly in Helen’s vision to enable the youth of Detroit through fitness and mentorship. Crossfit Kids is a strength and conditioning program to help kids and teens develop a lifelong love of fitness – while building strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.
As Helen says – “The discipline, self-control and perseverance you develop through physical fitness is something you carry with you in every phase of life. There’s nothing better as a coach than when you see some of your students exceeding their own expectations – it’s so important that we empower these kids to feel better about themselves, to see their ability, to see what they’re capable of. We’re passionate about helping them to experience how empowering and rewarding physical fitness can be.” Learn more about Core City CrossFit Kids & Teens here.
We’re currently participating in Core City CrossFit’s fundraising efforts to expand the program and support back to school needs for their community, collecting school supplies & backpacks for George Crockett Academy, not-for-profit public charter academy in Detroit.
